It is practically impossible to give a universal answer to this question, because it depends on so many variables. The difference in gains in raw material utilization certainly depends on the quality of the cutting plans that were previously made, without the help of the program.
Another thing that can be said without fear of being wrong: the bigger projects, with more parts, and/or more complex, with many different parts, are the most favored, because they are the most subject to human error.
In any case, experts estimate that, on average, the gain can go well beyond 30%. Even in a more timid projection, of 10%, the final gains are quite representative, as shown in the example below.
Let's consider the savings for a Corte Certo customer who produces a thousand pieces a week, each piece measuring 1m² on average. In short, it produces 1000 m² per week.
- Without the optimizer: average utilization of 80%. Therefore, 1250m² of sheets are needed to produce the thousand pieces.
- With the optimizer: average utilization can go up to 90% or more. That is, approximately 1100m² of sheets will be needed to produce the parts.
To check what the gain was, just calculate the difference in sheets used in both cases (in the example above, 150m² per week) and multiply by the price per square meter.
This material savings usually pays for the investment in the cutting optimizer in a few months, or even a few days. There are cases of customers who pay in a single calculation. It all depends on the number of pieces cut and the price of the material used. And, in any case, saving on raw materials is just one of the benefits that Corte Certo brings.
